HayfordsOne man and his family have been on my evangelism radar for a long time; somehow we happened to meet at a popular public spot.  We had a very cordial conversation, after which he asked me to come back again.  This time, it is my hope that we’ll have challenging and in-depth spiritual discussion that will impact his life and the family.  We welcome all prayers in this regard.

Stories From The Field

Gold River, BC

We’ve been trying different ways to communicate the Gospel to our Teen/Preteen Sunday School Class, and to get them solidly grounded in the Word. It’s a small class of only 3 to 5 kids, so most of the typical youth group type approaches simply aren’t feasible. Last fall we began doing a devotional with the kids, and then talking about Christian music and teaching them the basics of playing the djembe (hand drum). In January we added drama to the class activities by learning a fun and animated skit about the Good Samaritan. As we worked on the skit, we were able to have some good discussions about salvation, and the kids are gradually beginning to be able to articulate the basics of their faith. In February the class performed for the first time in church, accompanying the congregation during a song with their drums, and then performing their skit. They had a lot of fun practicing and performing, and the congregation really enjoyed it. We’re going to start working on a new song and a new skit, and the kids are enthusiastic about it. We hope to get one or two other preteens to join us.    Robert & Debra Hoffman
